My name is Erica Childress; I am a very proud wife and mother of three. My son Javonte is entering into the ninth grade at OPRF High School and my daughter Prayer is beginning third grade at Lincoln Elementary (Where my husband Marvin, teaches fourth grade). I also have a four month-old daughter Ivy, that recently started daycare. I completed my student teaching at Mann Elementary in a first grade classroom. Before coming to Beye, I worked at Williams Elementary, where I taught both kindergarten and first grade. I am very excited to be entering into my sixth year of teaching. Prior to becoming a teacher I received my Bachelors degree in Early Child Development from Erikson Institute in Chicago. In 2007 I earn my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University in River Forest. I am currently enrolled in the American College of Education working on my degree in Educational Leadership. It is my belief that a successful teacher is a life-long learner.
